<!DOCTYPE> tag:

  • The <!DOCTYPE> declaration must be the very first thing in your HTML document, before the <html> tag.
  • Its not an HTML tag; it is an instruction to the web browser about what version of HTML the page is written in.
  • <!DOCTYPE html> is HTML 5 declaration.

<html> tag:

  • The <html> tag tells the browser that this is an HTML document.
  • Its represents the root of an HTML document.

<head> tag:

  • The <head> element is a container for all the head elements.
  • This element can include a title for the document, scripts, styles, meta information, and more.

<body> tag:

  • The <body> tag defines the document's body.
  • This element contains all the contents of an HTML document, such as text, hyperlinks, images, tables, lists, etc.

<div> tag:

  • The <div> tag defines a division or a section in an HTML document.

<nav> tag:

  • The <nav> tag defines a set of navigation links.

<aside> tag:

  • The <aside> tag defines content aside from the page content.
  • Its content should be related to the surrounding content.

<section> tag:

  • The <section> tag defines sections in a document.

<footer> tag:

  • The <footer> tag defines a footer for a document or section.
  • Its typically contains:
    1. authorship information.
    2. copyright information.
    3. contact information.
    4. sitemap.
    5. back to top links.
    6. related documents.
